Rapid Prototyping

Mareco Prototyping produces prototypes by Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) using PA12 polymer. The quality of these protos are comparable with functional injection moulded parts. For this reason SLS prototypes can extend decent mechanical forces, you can design elastical hinges, click fingers and so on. 

 

Delivery Time

Our default delivery time for average sized models is three (3) working days, average sizes are ± 300 x 300 x 300 [mm]. In special cases, when the highest priority is needed, a lead time of one day is possible. Depending of course on the planning of our machines and the dimensions and design of your part.

Sizes

Sintered parts can be fused very easily and very strongly, this means that there is no limitation to the maximum product size. With our newest software big parts are divided in smaller parts with an almost automatic design of the necessary connection areas. Later, after sintering, the parts are glued together on this connecting areas and the end result is a very strong end-product where the glued connection is as strong as the PA12 part itself. We have built very large parts with great success, sizes up to 2000 x 2000 x 450 [mm] !!

 

Accuracy

Models are produced on High Speed & High Quality sintering machines, up-to-date with the latest state of technology. Our prototypes have a very high accuracy, the average tolerances are ± 10% per 100 [mm]. If there is a need for extremely accurate positions, for instance fitting holes of very flat areas, our CNC milling machines can do the rest.

Parts are built layer by layer using very fine PA12 powder, the default layer thickness is 0.10 [mm]. Essential of course is the quality of the 3D STL-file, the surface quality depends in the first place on the quality and the tolerances set by the STL file. The better the 3D file, the better the sintered prototype. Our quality department continiously checks the powder, the machine environment and the building process to ensure that only 100% conformity is guaranteed.
